The cold side lunch at the high school are offered a fresh homemade chicken apple cranberry salad and sandwich served on a fresh croissant with locally grown butter blend lettuce to the students as a lunch choice. The apples are locally sourced from Sunset Orchard in Richland Center, WI and the cranberries are unsweetened and locally sourced form Olden Organic Farm in Ripon, WI!
The Parkside Middle School Choirs will present their Winter Concert this Monday, December 11th, at 6:30 PM at the McComb/Bruchs Performing Arts Center.

Riverview, Redgranite and the high school roasted golden organic rough cut fresh vegetables. The roasted vegetable mixed included butternut squash, sweet potatoes, organic red beets, chioggia beets, daikon radishes, carrots, turnups, rutabaga, fresh roasted garlic, fresh rosemary and parsley. These vegetables were all locally grown at Olden Organic Farms in Ripon, WI! The students have been choosing these vegetables over the other vegetables on the menu such as steamed green beans!
Our lunch program continues to grow and offer more fresh and locally grown items onto our menus each day! Today, Parkside had roasted fresh brussels sprouts with fresh cut roasted garlic, dill and pepper! The salad bar had fresh portabella mushrooms, beet sticks, yam sticks, colored carrots, fresh unsweetened cranberries and more! All of these items are locally sourced right here in Wisconsin and as close as Ripon! Parkside is not the only school offering all these choices! The Parkside School Student Council recently held their annual food drive to benefit the Waushara Community Christmas Project. A total of 1,683 items were picked up this last Friday!
Mrs. Gunderson's Morning Meeting won their competition with 202 items while Mrs. Wilson's CPR took first place with 250 items!

Today Riverview 3rd graders introduced our December Character Trait - Respect. Be on the lookout for all kinds of Respectful acts, everyday, but especially this month!
Parkside Sixth Grade Language Arts Students are learning a new way to have a discussion. It is called a spider web discussion. While reading the novel Alone, students were given guiding opinion questions regarding the motivations of the main character. During the spider web discussion, the students discussed their opinions adding to what others said, asking deeper questions and using text evidence to back up their opinions during the discussion. They did a great job!
Insight FS Representatives Craig Rasmussen and Heidi Johnson stopped by Wautoma High School to speak to Mr. Panich’s class about employment opportunities.
Insight FS is an agricultural and energy business, that serves customers from 23 locations in Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. They have a location based in Wautoma, which offers services for agronomy, precision equipment, feed, turf seed, fertilizer, fuels, lubricants, DEF, propane, and animal nutrition.

After our 14th annual Pajama Drive, we would like to send a heart-felt thank you to everyone for their generous donations! Thank you for opening your hearts this holiday season. Your kindness and generosity helped us surpass last year's total. This year we collected $1,023.00 in monetary donations. When all donations were counted and the money was spent to purchase new pajamas, we collected a grand total of 275 sets! We also received a donation of handmade blankets.
Yesterday, third grade students at Redgranite Elementary helped count, sort, and box pajamas. The Holiday Project is excited to receive the cozy pajamas and blankets. We are so happy to be helping so many families this holiday season! Thank you for helping us make a difference in our community.

Riverview Elementary 4K-3rd Grade students, along with their Art Teacher Mrs. Miller, created paper murals for last weekend's Wautoma Area Chamber of Commerce's Breakfast with Santa at the WWII Memorial Building. Much encouragement and guidance was also provided by numerous Riverview staff members in the creation of these pieces. They are now currently hanging in the hall outside of Riverview's office.

Wautoma High School Juniors Addie DeMars and Zach Smith stopped by the Wautoma Rotary Club earlier today to perform four songs from the musical, “Mamma Mia”. Addie played Donna Sheridan and Zach portrayed Sam Carmichael for the WHS fall musical held at the McComb/Bruchs Performing Arts Center earlier this month.
