Each Tuesday morning START at WHS is dedicated to silent reading. Today, seniors Landon Keller and Peter Idsvoog read aloud How the Grinch Stole Christmas for all WHS students and staff to enjoy. Via Google Meet, the two festively dressed seniors took turns reading and showing the illustrations while sitting in front of the library's crackling fireplace. Thank you, Landon and Peter! You made our hearts grow three sizes today!

The Riverview Character Education Committee presents December’s Community Character Award to Doggers Bowling Alley for Respect! We can learn a lot about respect at the bowling alley. We can show respect by taking care of the equipment that we share with others, encourage team members, and be a good sport regardless of whether you win or lose the game. The employees at Doggers show respect by helping us find the shoes we need, get the lanes set up, and help answer questions we might have as we play the game. They continuously keep the lanes in good shape so we can be safe and have fun when we use them. They also show respect by scheduling leagues and trying to accommodate many different schedules so as many people as possible can use the alleys. All of these reasons and more are why we think Doggers Bowling Alley and its employees are deserving of being recognized for the character trait of Respect.

With LFS Grant funds, Wautoma School District Nutrition program was able to purchase around 500 pounds of fresh, locally raised Jersey-Angus beef in sirloin roast and fresh ground beef from Borzicks Farms Milkhouse Meats, Montello WI. LFS funds are used to purchase local unprocessed or minimally processed foods for the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program. Watch our school menus or our district Facebook page to see what other fresh from scratch recipes we make with this fresh beef! We will be working with current high school students who are interested in the culinary pathway, to create healthy recipes for the school menu. What do you think our students would like to see on the school lunch menu made with sirloin roast and ground beef?
