Riverview Student Council is organizing a Food Drive at Riverview School!
They are doing their part to help those in need by collecting food for the Waushara County Community Christmas Food Drive. Non-perishable food items will be collected at Riverview School from November 11th to December 4th. Grade levels are competing to see which grade can bring in the most food items. The food collected helps local families in need.
Keeping An Open Mind!
"The Sandwich Swap" by Queen Rania Al Abdullah is a story about friendship, acceptance, and keeping an open mind. These third grade students learned a lesson and were introduced to a food they had never heard of before, hummus. Keeping with the morale of the story the girls kept an open mind when they tried hummus for the first time.
Thrivent Financial was kind enough to donate money for free reading books to Mrs. Belter’s CPR. These books were chosen with teens aged interests in mind with a variety of reading levels to accommodate every student. When the books arrived, the students were so excited to check them out! Love to see the excitement and the love for reading!
Parkside School 7th grade student Kendall Gustke organized a district-wide student hat day and staff jeans day on Friday, November 8, to help her WASD bus driver, Lupe Cervantes, with costs of treatment for his wife, Yola, as she fights breast cancer. As a result of Kendall’s efforts, the District collected $1,515.68 for the Cervantes Family, which will go towards medical and travel expenses.
This student’s exemplary character is demonstrated day in and day out. He truly is the epitome of all of the Wautoma Area School District character traits. He is honest, dependable, trustworthy, and responsible. He is respected by his peers and adults here at Redgranite. He is always considerate of others and he always looks to find the positive in every situation. He is also willing to lend a helping hand to his fellow students and his teachers when needed. He is a true leader in and out of the classroom. Over the years, his determination and commitment to learning has led him to great successes with his academics. With such great character, he certainly has a bright future ahead of him. It is with honor and admiration that I nominate Korban Withall as Redgranite's October Student of the Month.
Students at Redgranite received an award today for showing the Character Trait Responsibility.

Third grade students at Redgranite recently read a book titled Third Grade Angels written by Jerry Spinelli. In writing class they learned about the parts of a friendly letter and how to compose a friendly letter. They then wrote a letter to author Jerry Spinelli giving him praise for writing a book filled with surprises that kept them on the edge of their seats. The letters were sent off and the children are patiently awaiting a reply. Pictured above are Ian Moldenhauer, Amelia Meckelberg, and Monica Hansen.
On Tuesday, October 28th The HS had special guest, Micheal T Borchardt, Staff Sergeant United States Army and Joshua F. Withers, Sergeant First Class United States Army serving hot lunch to the students! Thank you for your time and service!
