Congratulations to Landon Keller, WHS Student of the Month for March 2022. It is an honor to nominate Landon Keller for March student of the month. In the classroom Landon is a leader, dependable team member and always has a positive attitude. It never fails that Landon has a smile on his face when he walks into the class, his energy lights up the classroom. When working with peers in the classroom, Landon is determined to work through any problem and help his team members to achieve success. As a coach in the high school, I have always been impressed with Landon’s effort on the court and off the court as well. This summer I asked Landon for his assistance taking admission to girl’s summer league, and he willingly came in and helped us out when we needed it - that’s the kind of team player Landon is. In Chemistry Landon has regularly shown the ability to use creative problem-solving skills. He not only devises unique strategies, but he can also articulate why his method for tackling the problem will work well. Additionally, Landon can often be seen helping his peers in class.

In Miss H's third-grade class, we spent the month of March improving our multiplication skills. We made a "March Madness Multiplication" bracket where the kids went against each other to see who would be the winner of the class. Miss H's class went against each other until we had a final winner, as well as Mrs. Michalski's class. The end winners from each class went against each other for the final championship. Katelyn and Maya were our winners from each class. Katelyn was our final winner! We talked about how everyone is a winner in our class!

On Tuesday Mrs. Walbrun's Math classes had a lot of fun practicing finding area and perimeter using Cheez It's. Not only did they get in a lot of practice and learning, but they of course enjoyed getting to eat them when done making arrays with them.

Last week Redgranite 5th graders took to the ice to learn more about the sport of curling. They would like to extend a giant 'Thank You' to the volunteers and members of the Appleton Curling Club for teaching them about the sport and restraining their laughs when their feet were no longer on the ice, but in the air. The kids did an awesome job staying positive and encouraging each other while they were all taking a risk and trying something new and challenging.

Third grade students in Redgranite would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all of the students, staff, and community members who donated to the 12th Annual Pajama Drive. The students were able to collect exactly 200 sets of pajamas and they also collected $690.78 to purchase additional sets of pajamas. The children are well on their way to surpassing their goal of collecting 200 sets! Thank you to everyone for your generosity and kindness. We appreciate you!

Second graders at Redgranite Elementary School are learning about living organisms. Tuesday they each got 2 of their own meal worms to observe and study. They learned that all living organisms need space, air, water, and food. Ask your 2nd grader what they named their meal worms.

This student is a great role model. She truly possesses all of the following character traits: responsibility, respect, empathy, determination, leadership, integrity, and cooperation. During the month of February, Redgranite Elementary School was celebrating the character trait leadership. This student is constantly showing me what a great leader she is inside and outside the classroom. She is always quick to show 5, she immediately offers to help other students, she encourages others to do their best and to do the right thing, and she is always following expectations and directions without being reminded. As the year progresses, this student continues to exceed my expectations. I am excited to see this student continue to grow as an outstanding leader and role model at Redgranite Elementary. It is with great pleasure that I nominate Kylie Henze for Redgranite Elementary’s student of the month. Leadership character trait award winners: K- Adelise Florez (not pictured), 1- Marley Ostertag, 2nd- Gracie Mandeik, 3rd- Ryker Withall, 4th- Wylee Woyak, 5th- Brooke Freeland
