Miss Simacek’s 4th grade class was able to hike part of the Ice Age Trail at the Hartman Creek State Park. They hiked about 2.5 miles of this over 1,000 mile National Scenic Trail. On the hike, they learned about the history of the Ice Age Trail. They were also able to explore different landforms like kettles, kames, eskers, and erratics.

This Thursday we're trying something new on our menu, voted as a favorite by students! At our mini food show that was held during October's P/T conferences, we had samples of shepherd's pie and it was a big hit!
We had students fill out comment cards and some of the feedback was:
"Delicious!"
"Loved Everything!"
"Mmmmm!"
"All I can say is delicious."
"It was awesome!"
The lunch crew hopes your student will try it and enjoy it just as much!

Happy Halloween from Redgranite Elementary! The kids had a wonderful time dressing up and dancing the day away!

On Friday, Redgranite Elementary 5th graders and Kindergartners created pumpkins together. After they were done with their craft, the 5th graders read Halloween themed books to their buddies. Everyone had a spook-tacular time!

Yesterday during Miss Schmitt's ELA Acceleration Class, her students read "Spookly the Square Pumpkin". Following the story, the class discussed and celebrated what it means to be unique as well as created a craft of some very special and beautiful pumpkins!

Two weeks ago, Miss Strobl and some 4th graders delivered donuts, 100 Grand bars, and the cards the students created for our community helpers during their service learning project on Character Day!
We are thankful for each person that helps keep our community safe!

Last week Mrs. Sluke’s Rock Climbing Class worked on building trust among each other. They successfully completed the spider web activity on our outdoor challenge course. This particular activity requires every member of the class to make it through one of the spider web openings without touching the web. Each opening "closes" after a student makes it through successfully, so all of the openings of the web are utilized. The activity cannot be accomplished without the help, assistance and protection provided by all of the participants.

The Wautoma High School Drama Department will present the play "She Kills Monsters" at the McComb/Bruchs PAC this Friday and Saturday at 7:00 PM.
"She Kills Monsters" tells the story of high schooler Agnes Evans as she deals with the death of her younger sister, Tilly. When Agnes stumbles upon Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge. In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and ’90s pop culture, acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all.
* Recommended for ages 12 and Up*

Redgranite Student Council was busy spreading kindness again. On Wednesday, they celebrated students' birthdays. All students who celebrated a birthday in the month of October received a card and were able to sit at the decorated table.

As part of Character Day in the Wautoma Area School District, the 8th grade students at Parkside School wrote cards and assembled packages for deployed soldiers. Included in the packages are 200 beef sticks donated by StoneRidge Piggly Wiggly of Wautoma. We appreciate StoneRidge's generosity in helping our students show appreciation to our US soldiers stationed overseas.
