Ooey Gooey Scientists arranged Skittles in a circle on a plate and then poured warm water on the plate to see the colors spread. This process of diffusion causes the color to move to areas in the water with less sugar and dye.
Riverview Elementary First Grade Teacher Mrs. Jackowski was recently nominated by the Premo Family for 101.1 WIXX's Teacher of the Month Award.
"Although she was not chosen by WIXX as a teacher of the month, she is award-winning in our hearts," said Deb Premo.
Below is the description we submitted to WIXX.
Mrs. Jackowski is a compassionate teacher who genuinely cares about each of her students and makes them feel special every day at school. She positively encourages and safely challenges her students to strive for success as they gain confidence and believe in themselves. She always has a hug, a smile, or a kind word for any student who needs it. Her unwavering patience for her 1st graders, enthusiasm when working with kids, and the way she sees the positive in all of her students make her a favorite teacher.
Mrs. Jackowski creates a dynamic classroom environment where all students are engaged, challenged so they grow, supported when taking academic risks, and encouraged to be respectful and responsible members of their classroom community. She integrates technology, teaches relevant and well-planned lessons, has clear learning targets to help set goals for students, celebrates students’ achievements, and allows students to think creatively. She is a role model for her students. Her dedication to her students and their families is evident in her frequent and various forms of communication. She posts pictures to Class Dojo, shares weekly newsletters, sends personalized emails, accepts feedback through surveys, and invites parents into her classroom. She keeps parents informed and assured that our kids are being cared for and getting the best learning experience possible.
My son has grown academically as a more confident reader and a math enthusiast as a result of Mrs. Jackowski’s dedication to academic success. She also understands the diverse social and emotional needs of each of her students. When my son first started school, he used to cry at the start of each school day. Now, he enters school with enthusiasm because he knows Mrs. Jackowski is there to greet him, teach him, and care for him. As a mom, I know my son is in caring hands when he is with Mrs. Jackowski.
We appreciate and recognize her for all of her efforts, kindness, and talent. She is undeniably deserving of the award of Teacher of the Month.
Having spent the past 16 years safely driving students to and from school and sporting events, Mr. Clark Blader will officially turn in his keys this week as Wautoma Area School Bus Driver. Thank you for your years of service and all you have done for the students! Enjoy retirement!
