"It is both an honor and a joy to celebrate the excellence, perseverance, and remarkable achievements of the top academic scholars of Wautoma’s Class of 2025. These students have not only worked diligently to be at the top of their class, but have also committed their time and energy to positively impacting the success of our school, the lives of students in our district and our communities. When you’re walking the halls of Wautoma High School or catching them out in the community, these students are smiling and greeting you, while probably thinking of ways to support those in our communities. The Third Grade Team would like to nominate Charlie Reagan for February Student of the Month.
Charlie comes in everyday ready to work hard and try his best. He is always on task and does what is asked of him.
He also is a great friend and classmate who is kind to others and willing to help students who might be struggling.
Charlie demonstrates all of the character traits on a daily basis. He especially shows this month's trait of leadership not only in the classroom but also at Riverview by being a part of the student council. Charlie is a great reader, writer, and mathematician who often goes above and beyond what he is being asked to do.
Charlie is an overall amazing student and person. It is for those reasons and more that he is more than deserving of being named student of the month.

This student is a great example of integrity, consistently doing what is right even when no one is watching. She follows the rules without hesitation, not for recognition, but because she genuinely values honesty and respect. Her kindness knows no bounds—whether offering a helping hand to a classmate in need or sharing a joke that brightens everyone’s day, she makes a positive impact every day. She has a heart of gold and a selfless spirit that will undoubtedly make a difference in this world. This year has been more enjoyable because of her unwavering positivity, compassion, and leadership. It has been a privilege to watch her grow, and there is no doubt that she will continue to inspire those around her for years to come. It is with great honor that I nominate Kaylee Sheller for Redgranite’s Student of the Month.

When choosing a student to represent fifth grade, Jack automatically came to mind. His teachers have been waiting for the perfect time to nominate him, and that time is now.
Throughout his time at Parkside, Jack has shown great perseverance through challenges, both in school and with friends. In class, he works hard to overcome any obstacle. Some things don’t always come easily to him, but he never gives up.
With friends, Jack has grown a lot. He has learned to accept that everyone is different, including himself. Instead of seeing this as a bad thing, Jack understands that it makes him special. It’s what makes Jack, Jack.
Jack embodies all of the Parkside character traits. He treats everyone with respect and shows empathy to those who may be struggling. He always demonstrates integrity, even when it may be difficult. In class, he is cooperative and makes sure to include others who might feel left out. Jack is incredibly empathetic and can relate to his peers and their situations. He is never afraid to offer his support in a time of need.
Jack is a well-rounded student who always makes the right decision, no matter the situation. He is a strong leader in our fifth-grade hallway, setting a positive example for others. For these reasons and many more, the fifth-grade team is proud to nominate Jack Martz as Parkside’s Student of the Month.

Congratulations, Parkside March Character Award Winners

On March 17th, 2025 Paul Grimm was honored with the Wautoma High School Music Department Friend of the Arts Award. Paul has performed in pit orchestras with our students, accompanied choir and band concerts, and accompanied both instrumental and vocal events at district and state Solo and Ensemble Festivals. Paul is not only a wonderful piano player, but a kind supporter of our students and staff and a supportive presence in the community. We are so grateful that Paul shares his time and talent with us and were excited to make him an official friend of the arts!
Paul graduated with the Wautoma High School class of 1966. He says, "It has been my privilege to be able to give back to the school in my later years of life for the wonderful foundation I received in high school. My musical mentors at school way back then were Harvard Erdman (band) and Wayne Salter (choir). They provided me opportunities to grow as a musician and singer, composer and performer, accompanist, student and person. They enabled me to attain a Gold W in music during my high school years that provided a foundation for later artistic pursuits." Paul's name has been added to a perpetual plaque in the McComb Bruchs Performing Arts Center Lobby. It reads: "This award is bestowed upon exceptional individuals who have generously shared their time and talent. These friends have changed our programs and our lives for the better. We are forever grateful."

Today, Mrs. Gill's Digital Literacy of Healthcare Class went over to FVTC Wautoma Regional Center to learn more about the Medical Assistant Program. Professor Kim Gropp explained what a Medical Assistant does, the ins and outs of the program, cost, and much more. The students were even able to partake in hands-on activities! Thank you Kim for taking the time to talk to the class about the program!
