According to the EMERGENCY ORDER #12 SAFER AT HOME ORDER issued by Governor Evers, the Wautoma Area School District cannot allow anyone to use school district playground equipment through at least April 24th, 2020. We cannot physically close these areas, but we are asking all community members to honor this closing of all playground areas until at least April 24th, 2020. Please refer to Section 4 of the order shown below. Thank You 4. Closures. All of the following facilities shall be closed: Places of public amusement and activity. Whether indoors or outdoors, including but not limited to amusement parks, carnivals, water parks, licensed public or private swimming pools, splash pads, aquariums, zoos, museums, arcades, fairs, children's play centers, playgrounds, funplexes, theme parks, bowling alleys, movie and other theaters, concert and music halls, country clubs, social clubs, and gyms and fitness centers.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 17, 2020 Waushara County Food Pantry Is Open and Will Continue Food Distribution During This Time of Concern About Covid-19 We will use a drive through distribution process to protect both volunteers and customers. We are committed to continuing food distribution to our community during this time of uncertainty about how the Covid-19 virus will impact Waushara County. To conform to the CDC guidelines, and in an abundance of caution, we are instituting a drive through food pick up process. If you participated in our Thanksgiving Turkey Distribution or any of the area Mobile Pantries, this will be familiar to you. Here is what you need to know: There will be a check in point where staff will approach your vehicle to gather some information; They will provide you information about next steps; Packaged food will be brought to your vehicle; We will make sure that basic food groups are covered, vegetables, cereal, carbohydrates, and proteins. We will NOT be able to manage special request/choice items in the same way as usual. Please be patient as this is a new environment for all of us. Until further notice WE CANNOT ACCEPT FOOD DONATIONS, we must be able to track the source and distribution process for safety reasons. We are partnering with other community groups to address the food needs of students that are at home. We will continue to monitor the situation so that we all get through this together. If you, or someone you care about, need food assistance, please call 715-869-FOOD (3663) for information. Monetary donations should be made out to Waushara County Food Pantry and mailed. We are open for food distribution every Tuesday and Friday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Waushara County Food Pantry is located at 220A Oakridge Court in Wautoma. END ###

Emergency State of Wisconsin Order #5 "Effective at 5 PM on Wednesday, March 18th, 2020, all public and private schools and institutions of higher education in the State of Wisconsin shall close for instructional and extracurricular activities at 5 PM. Such institutions shall remain closed for the duration of the public health emergency or until a subsequent order lifts this specific restriction" Andrea Palm - Wisconsin Department of Health Services The purpose of this order is to clearly communicate that the April 6th date of a return to school is no longer in effect, and schools are closed indefinitely. The WASD Food Service Staff is working hard today packing lunch and breakfast for all WASD children18 or under. Lunch and breakfast for the next day will be available between 11-11:45 AM starting Wednesday, March 18th at all seven of our meal distribution locations. Please check our post for locations at Redgranite, Mount Morris and Wautoma. Your child does NOT need to have a parent or guardian with them to pick up meals. The Wautoma Area School District has added another Food Distribution Location. The Wautoma Area School District will also deliver food to the Mt. Morris Community Center on 21st Lane from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM starting on Wednesday, March 18th. Any child ages 18 and under can stop by and pick up a Grab and Go Lunch and a Grab and Go Breakfast for the next day.

Good Evening, With Governor Evers' Order of School Closure from 5 PM March 18th up to at least April 6th, the Wautoma Area School District will take Saturday and Sunday to receive greater detail from this order and to determine a course of action to provide students a semblance of an education during this school closure. I will communicate more detailed information and a school schedule for next week through a similar message and a District Facebook post on Sunday evening.
