This morning we recognize Wautoma High School Senior Caprice Juday in the Youth Apprenticeship Spotlight!
This is Caprice’s first year working with the Hancock Agricultural Research Station in the Agricultural and Natural Resources Pathway. Caprice's duties vary as needed but she has assisted in processing samples, checking traps and digging potatoes. Amber Walker, her Supervisor/Mentor, recently stated that Caprice is very reliable and everyone enjoys Caprice’s attitude, ability to help with anything, and her commitment.
REMINDER: The Wautoma High School Band Winter Concert will be held on Monday, December 12th at the McComb/Bruchs Performing Arts Center. The concert will begin at 7:00 PM.
On Dec. 6, a group of sixth through eighth grade students from Parkside School participated in a Geography Bee, held at Adams-Friendship Middle School. Each grade-level team participated in both individual and group competitions. Congratulations to the sixth grade team for a third place finish overall and to Alexandrea Woyak for her third place finish in the individual portion of the contest.
Mrs. Shepard's 6th grade language arts classes are reading Walk Two Moons. Students are reading the parts of dialogue as a play with Mrs. Shepard or Mrs. Coussons being the narrator. Students chose the parts to read based on who was present in the chapter. They read the parts as they envisioned the character, with inflection and intonation. This helps students to learn how to write dialogue correctly as well as how to read fluently with feeling, putting themselves in the story.
On Dec. 6, Dennis Bertzyk, a long-time supporter of Wautoma students and student-athletes, enjoyed lunch provided by Charley’s with the November WHS Student of the Month nominees. SAVE THE DATE: The Parkside 4th Graders will be presenting their Winter Concert "Cold Winds - Warms Hearts" next Wednesday, Dec. 14th at 2 PM. The concert will be held in the lower gym of Parkside School. We hope to see you all there!

Redgranite Elementary November Character Trait Award Winners
Tomorrow evening the Parkside 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Choirs will be performing their Winter Concert at the McComb/Bruchs PAC beginning at 6:30 PM.

On Friday, the Wautoma High School students enrolled in the Construction Trades Safety Class at Fox Valley Technical College Regional Center learned about generators and the clothing they are required to wear when working on electrical equipment from FVTC Safety Engineering Instructor Jim Lange. At the conclusion of this class, the students will receive their OSHA 30 Certification.

Today’s Youth Apprenticeship Spotlight features Wautoma High School Senior Hannah House.
This is Hannah’s first year in her Youth Apprenticeship at Patriot Place working as a resident aide. While working at the facility, Hannah helps residents complete daily tasks that they are unable to perform independently. She also cares for all the residents and her motto is, “residents come before any other job duty”.

Redgranite Elementary's Community Service Project this quarter required them to be creative and spread some joy. Students put forth their best work designing coffee sleeves for a community coffee shop. Be sure to check out their hard work at Sunshine Coffee, downtown Redgranite!

Congratulations to WHS Student of the Month: Cami Culver
The CTE department is proud to nominate Cami Culver for student of the month. Whether it is in the classroom, on the court or field, or through her involvement with clubs and organizations, Cami is always kind, helpful, and inclusive to those around her. Cami is truly a team player. Through her involvement with Key Club she has been part of many committees and is currently our president. She is always willing to volunteer and works well with any members of the club. Cami is always smiling and positive.
Yesterday the Redgranite Elementary School Student Council continued to spread some cheer by celebrating the birthdays of those students and staff who had birthdays in November. Happy birthday!
