On Monday, February 20, the Wautoma Area School District will be administering the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) to students in Grades 6-12. The anonymous survey collects data on six health behaviors that contribute to the leading causes of death and illness in youth and adults.
The YRBS Survey is a health and wellness tool developed by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and is administered every two years by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
The results of the survey help district administration monitor changes overtime, identify emerging issues in their schools and communities, and plan and evaluate programs to support physical and mental health of teens. By offering this survey, it provides students the chance to share information about what is happening in their lives voluntarily and anonymously.
